Closing the Green Gap
Josh Scurville for Grow to Know
Grow to Know formally launches Closing the Green Gap as part of our mission to drive equal access to green space, starting in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, London.
This marks a commitment to delivering permanent, community gardens in North Kensington - on par with RHS Chelsea Flower Show standards, given its proximity, but rooted in purpose, place, and long-term impact.
The inaugural garden will be located at Lancaster Youth Hub in North Kensington, and will be created in collaboration with the community organisations based within the building—Fit For Life Youth, Young K&C, and London Sports Trust—all of whom champion young people and grassroots empowerment.
Grow to Know is a vessel for meaningful change - with this, we welcome allies, funders, and the wider public to stand and journey alongside us in closing the green gap. From this launch through 2025, Grow to Know will fundraise, with the aim to co-design and transform the space, for an opening in May 2026 - unlocking opportunities, programmes and green careers for young people and community, locally.

Tuesday 13th May 2025 marks the beginning of Grow to Know’s fundraising journey to enable the transformative work needed at Lancaster Youth Hub—crucially working alongside local young people to co-design, shape, and bring to life a lasting space of beauty, opportunity, and connection at one of only a few youth clubs in North Kensington, and the surrounding area.
